Bithumb to Launch NFT Marketplace

More about the launch of the NFT marketplace in 2022 by the bitcoin exchange

The South Korean bitcoin exchange Bithumb, with the support of a “large company”, will launch an NFT marketplace in the first half of 2022. Signal writes about it.

In an interview with the platform’s CEO Ho Baek-young, he said that this move will help him maintain his position in the fight against Korbit and Upbit. Competitors launched NFT marketplaces in June and November 2021, respectively.

In a conversation with Newsway, Bithumb representatives neither confirmed nor denied the rumors that the initiative is being implemented jointly with LG CNC, a subsidiary of LG Corporation. According to the interlocutors, the firm may not be the only one with whom the platform has a substantive dialogue.

Information about who is ready to cooperate with Bithumb in creating content for the NFT is not provided.

The exchange posted vacancies with competencies in the field of NFT in November.

Recall that the provider of blockchain games Animoca Brands and the record label, as well as the production center Cube Entertainment, have agreed to create a metaverse focused on the K-pop music genre.
