Cannes Film Festival VIP Pass Up for Auction as NFT

The VIP pass for the upcoming Cannes Film Festival is being issued by the film and television production studio Electromagnetic Productions (EMP) as an NFT.

About the NFT pass

The VIP pass auction will take place on March 28th and we will see one winner travel with EMP to Cannes, in the south of France, where they will be granted entry to the famous festival, accommodation for three nights at the coveted Hotel Du Cap Eden Roc on the nearby peninsula and access to the annual amfAR gala. In addition, the winner may be at a dinner with celebrities from the “A” list. Will Smith and Tobey Maguire have previously visited the hotel.

In addition to this 1/1 NFT, EMP Studio released a 10,000 piece NFT collection. It allows owners to access various unique events hosted by the production company.

Cannes Film Festival

The Cannes Film Festival is without a doubt the biggest film festival in France, if not the world. This year it will start on May 17 and end on May 28. It is one of the “big three” major European film festivals along with the Venice and Berlin International Film Festivals. In addition, it is one of the “big five” of the world’s largest film festivals. These are the three largest European film festivals, the Toronto International Film Festival and the Sundance Film Festival. The annual festival began in 1946, just after World War II, and has been held every year since then.

Typically during the festival, the population of Cannes triples from 74,000 to over 200,000. The financial impact of the festival is about €195.87 million. This is a large part of the annual income from tourism activities in Cannes in the amount of 800.7 million euros. To enter the festival, you must be invited, and not everyone can go. Over the years, many Hollywood A-list stars have visited Cannes.
