Dr.Disrespect Streamer Starts Raising Sponsorship Through NFT

Game studio Midnight Society will sell 10,000 NFTs

Video game studio Midnight Society, founded by streamer Dr.Disrespect, will be selling 10,000 NFTs to fund development. According to the announcement on the official website, the tokens will be issued on “environmentally friendly technology”. What exactly is at stake is unclear. However, the Midnight Society claims that each token will be sold at a “fixed and affordable base price.”

NFT owners will receive a VisorCortex helmet with a unique design. However, it remains unclear whether these same items will be available in the video game itself. Tokens can also be resold on the secondary market. Token holders will have access to early builds of the game, as well as be able to take part in the development of an as yet unnamed game. The sale of the tokens themselves is already available on the studio website.

Dr.Disrespect, a popular streamer in gaming circles, announced the creation of his own gaming studio in December 2021. Midnight Society developers are creating an online shooter based on the Unreal Engine 5 game engine. The release date of the video game remains unknown.

Last December, the developers of the video game S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 announced their own metaverse, but almost immediately disavowed plans for the NFT. What exactly was the reason for the refusal of NFT, the company did not explain. However, they noted that they made a decision “based on the response received.”

The abandonment of NFT occurred a couple of hours after the company introduced the metaverse based on the video game. What exactly will be the so-called S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Metaverse remains unclear.
