Ferrari NFTs and Blockchain Projects Might Coming Soon

Benedetto Viña, CEO of Ferrari, revealed that they are exploring how new technologies such as NFT and Blockchain can help their brand. As a result, the luxury sports car maker has set up a digital retail division to handle future projects.

Speaking about Q4 2021 results during a recent earnings call, Vigna stated that Web 3.0 is an area that deserves their attention. He added: “We are strengthening our relationships with leading technology partners such as Amazon Web Services in Wales to be at the forefront of digital technology and Web 3.0.”

The top executive cited as a compelling precedent that Facebook changed its name to Meta, which shows that companies are interested in Web 3.0 and Metaverse. Thus, the brand has huge opportunities in the digital space. 2022 is an important year for Ferrari as it celebrates its 75th anniversary. In addition, on June 16, 2022, the foundations of the new business plan will be unveiled. Given the way things are going, the NFT and Blockchain projects will be among the main ones.

Vigna also acknowledged that there is a lot of movement in the NFT and blockchain space. In fact, their competitors are doubling down on their NFT efforts. Therefore, the “horse” should do the same in order to catch up with competitors. For example, Red Bull Racing has teamed up with green blockchain Tezos to launch an exclusive NFT drop on sweet.io in December 2021. Meanwhile, McLaren Racing Collective has launched 3D parts of its Formula 1 car as an NFT.

For its part, Ferrari has already taken its first steps into the world of cryptocurrencies at the end of 2021. The brand has named Velas Network AG as its official NFT partner ahead of the 2022 racing season. The Swiss technology company is an expert in creating digital products and services. So future Ferrari NFT drops are in safe hands!

Ferrari is betting huge on the NFT because the multi-year contract covers all of its racing lines. Velas will be the title sponsor of the Ferrari Esports Series, the mono-brand Prancing Horse online series. The same agreement applies to their Esports team.

The first digital collectibles will be available for purchase by March 2022 (when the next F1 season starts). Mattia Binotto, General Manager and Team Director of Scuderia Ferrari, is confident that Velas is the ideal partner for this project. He described the company as an organization that “makes innovation and performance the hallmark of technologically advanced products and services.”

Meanwhile, Velas co-founder and CEO Farkhad Shagulyamov is looking forward to showcasing his platform. “By building a next-generation blockchain that emphasizes both sustainability and performance, it was natural to partner with another icon of excellence.”
