Reddit May Prepare to Launch NFT Platform

Other social media platforms, including Twitter and Facebook, are working to support NFT if they are not creating a competitor to large markets.

The social media platform Reddit appears to be hiring employees to support the design, creation, and maintenance of the immutable token platform.

Backend Engineer Vacancy with NFT Knowledge

According to the Greenhouse job posting, Reddit is looking for a senior backend engineer for the platform responsible for “millions of users who will create, buy, sell and use NFT-enabled digital goods.” This position requires at least five years of experience in backend development, as well as the ability to “design and implement complex distributed systems that run under high load.”

“If there’s anything we noticed with NFTs, they too have incredible power to create a sense of belonging and belonging,” the job posting says.

“With every new NFT project, there is an active community of owners. Fans of major creators and brands today flock to buy digital products directly from them – to support them, gain exclusive access, and feel more connected to them. We believe this will only grow over time and the NFT will play a central role in how fans support their favorite creators and communities. ”

Reddit has acted as a medium for bringing cryptocurrency users together for years, and the platform’s subreddits are largely responsible for pumping the price of tokens, including Dogecoin (DOGE). Users can also earn platform community points – tokens similar to digital currency in the form of moons or bricks (Moon or Brick) – by posting specific content to receive rewards.

While some crypto exchanges are slowly launching their own NFT marketplaces, social media platforms are also working to support the technology, if not create a competitor to OpenSea. Social media giant Facebook hinted that its Novi wallet will likely support NFT, and Twitter said in September that it is working to allow users to display NFT as a profile picture.
