Scientists find that most NFT files cost no more than $ 15

Scientists from the University of London studied 6.1 million transactions in the NFT market (what it is, you can read here) from 23 June 2017 to 27 April 2021 and came to a funny conclusion. The market for digital assets is growing, but most of the works sold are worth very little – no more than $ 15.

Cost of NFT files

Of the 4.7 million NFTs (exchanged over 500 thousand buyers and traders), only 1% of the files were sold for more than $ 1,594. As many as 75% of the objects cost no more than $ 15. At the same time, there were much more transactions than files sold – most likely due to the fact that the same tokens are resold for a higher price.

Until the end of 2018, the Art file group dominated the NFT market – by the way, it continues to grow. The Art, Metaverse, and Collectibles categories tend to sell more than others. Scientists also note that the market is actively growing – it finally has a structure, rules and characteristic behavior of participants.

We do not know what to do with this information. One thing is clear – now even animation, movies and games are going to NFT. Whether this trend is good or not is not clear.
