The first lecture on NFT was held at the University of Turkey

Ankara University was the first institution of higher education in the country to offer a course on NFT. According to local media, even government representatives attended the first lecture of the course.

The curriculum of the NFT course was interesting for many people

The NFT course curriculum first appeared in Turkey at Ankara University. According to Hürriyet daily, this is the first crypto discipline that appeared in an educational institution in the country. The publication also notes that representatives from the presidential administration, as well as the Ministry of Culture, were also present at the first lecture on the course.

The rector of the university, Necdet Yunuvar, notes that they are happy to teach the discipline on non-fungible tokens, but their students are still happier than them. Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism Ozgul Ozkan Yavuz noted that they believe that NFTs can become an incentive for the development of artistic creativity, skills and talents of young people, and therefore the university’s step in this direction is extremely important.

She also noted that she was looking forward to the end of the academic semester, and also that the NFTs created by the students could then appear on the exhibition intended for this.

Ali Taha Koç, head of the Turkish Presidential Office for Digital Transformation, said his office is working on a number of other digital projects. According to him, his department is trying to come up with a Turkish term for non-fungible tokens. Ali Taha Koch also asked the course participants to participate and support this idea with their own proposals.

The global NFT market continues to grow. The course at Ankara University appeared after the head of the country, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, instructed to study such developments as crypto assets and the metaverse in January. Prior to that, in December, he stated that Turkey was ready to adopt a law on cryptocurrency.
