Rich Simmons, London-based pop artist and founder of Art Is The Cure, a non-profit organization, will donate thousands to mental health charities! After selling off his NFT collection, he makes a donation.
Rich Simmons and his NFT REFLECTIONS collection
Simmons released his first NFT collection in February called REFLECTIONS NFT and sold all 3,333 unique variations in less than an hour. In the first week, the collection sold for 1.7 million dollars.
On his website, Simmons stated that REFLECTIONS NFT is dedicated to the world’s greatest masterpieces. Each piece in the collection brings the experience of seeing art in a museum. The art reflected in the glasses takes viewers into the digital world of NFT galleries.
Thanks to the success of his NFT collection. Rich will donate over £7,500 to charities. He will also lead 10 Art Is The Cure workshops at several schools where he will teach young people about the benefits of creative therapy.
About Art is Medicine and Mental Health Awareness
Simmons is one of the NFT artists who promotes the importance of mental health. He said: “Art saved my life when I was younger. I’ve been battling depression, I have Asperger’s. I see the world differently. Art has always been what connected me to the world. It allowed me to communicate.”
In 2008, he founded the Art Is The Cure project to inspire people and promote creative therapy as a means of liberation. Through the Art Is The Cure Discord server, Simmons is building a community of gallery-level artists willing to showcase their talent in the NFT world.
He added: “From the beginning, I wanted to be able to give something in return. By creating a community of artists, we can support each other’s work and use NFTs for good. I hope this will also encourage other artists to use the success of their NFTs to support good causes.”
