Telegram: CEO wants to integrate “NFT-like smart contracts”.

Monetize addresses and usernames and release them for auction – that’s what the founder and CEO of Messenger service Telegram, Pavel Durov, proposes.

NFT-like smart contracts

Durov announced yesterday Monday that he is considering the possibility of auctions on the platform.
Accordingly, Durov suggested making “usernames, group and channel links” available for auctions.
“This would create a new platform where username holders could transfer them to interested parties as part of protected deals – with ownership secured on the blockchain via NFT-like smart contracts,” Durov writes.
He was inspired by the auction of wallet domains within the TON network. This is a project created by Telegram itself.
Telegram and TON recently made headlines with a wallet bot that enables crypto payments on the news platform.
